Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The Hotel was brand new and recently built. The check-in system was very easy and we were given a pin number for our room. In the lobby, free drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and ice cream are available. We stayed in The Hanare, the top floor suite separated from the main building. The interior had a contemporary theme with classic Japanese accents. A rich, dark wood paneling was used on most of the furniture. The entire west facing wall consisted of windows and a balcony. The ceiling to floor curtains rolled on silent bearings. The bathroom sink area had heated flooring that seemed to turn on with the motion sensor lights. The mirror might've been anti-fog, but we couldn't confirm. There was also a touch button on the bottom center of the mirror to turn on the built-in light. All outlets had a USB-A and a USB-C slot included for universal convenience. The mini refrigerator had 5 or 6 bottles of free drinks including one bottle of beer. The drawers next to the mini fridge had an electric kettle, ice cup, and a stirrer. They also had potato crisp snacks, instant coffee, instant matcha latte, instant cocoa, and tea bags. The shower room was our favorite part of the suite. It was absolutely gorgeous with stone lined walls and flooring. The ceiling had clean cuts of hinoki cypress wood. Just like the main suite, the west wall was entirely made from windows with a door that also led directly to the balcony. The vertical shower bar had an adjustable showerhead rest for both height and angle. The bath was also lined with the same stone paneling as the walls. The waterfall faucet had an impressive, steady flow. Watching the sunset from the bath was an unforgettable experience.

Negative: The room was on the roof and separated from the rest of the building, which meant you had to exit a roof access door with a pin code to be able to access the room. It was very windy and cold, so making use of the free drink service in the lobby meant having to put on shoes and a coat to avoid freezing on the way back into the main building. The shower room has zero privacy from the outside except for the fact that it is on the top floor. Anyone in the living room of the suite can see directly into the shower room through the window. This is only an issue if you have more than your significant other sharing the room with you. There were 2 devices that were not charged before we entered the room. The first being the portable bluetooth speaker and the second being the makeup mirror with a built-in light. Both were dead and needed to be recharged via a USB-C cable, which the room did not provide. The road to get to the local restaurants and cafes had no sidewalk and was extremely narrow and dangerous, especially at night.
